The Emergency Appendectomy
As most of you already know, Todd was in the oilfield when he became extremely ill. At first the medic thought he was passing a kidney stone. He had all the symptoms. After discovering that his white blood count was more than double what it should be, the medic and the doctor in Anchorage decided that it probably was his appendix. He was Medi Vacced to Fairbanks where they determined that it was his appendix and he was taken into emergency surgery. During the surgery, the doctor found that his appendix had perforated and leaked into his abdominal cavity. Todd spent 5 days in the hospital recovering. I stayed everyday at the hospital as well since they had food and cable tv. Todd is getting better every day and should be back in action soon.

Kayaking The Chena
My friend Bernadette (who is also recently a LOL-Lady of Leisure) called Monday morning and said, "Let's rent kayaks and go down the river". What a great idea!!!! We rented kayaks and started a leisurely 2 hour trip down the Chena River. The weather couldn't have been more perfect. The trip ends at the Pump House Saloon and we felt we had earned a cocktail after all the drifting we had done.
